Monaco’s national flag consists of two equal horizontal bands, red above white. The colors belong to the ruling House of Grimaldi and have been associated with Monaco for centuries.

The design is exceptionally simple: a red upper half and white lower half. It contains no coat of arms or other symbol.
History of Monaco’s colors
Red and white are the heraldic colors of the Grimaldi dynasty and have been used in Monaco since the Middle Ages. The modern bicolour was formally adopted in the nineteenth century while preserving those dynastic colors.
Monaco vs Indonesia
Monaco’s flag is famously similar to Indonesia’s: both are red over white. The main visual distinction is proportion, with Monaco traditionally using a squarer format. Poland uses the same two colors in the opposite order, white over red.
