How to Draw the Barbados Flag: 3:2 Ratio, Three Panels & Broken Trident

A practical guide to the official proportions and layout.

How to draw the Barbados flag
1

Start with a 3:2 rectangle

The official flag proportion is 3:2, meaning the width is one and a half times the height.

2

Divide it into three equal vertical panels

Create three equal-width bands. The outer panels are ultramarine and the center panel is gold.

3

Center the broken trident

Place the black broken trident head in the middle of the gold panel. The lower shaft is intentionally absent and should not be drawn as a complete trident.

4

Use official color references where possible

Parliament identifies ultramarine as BCC 148 and gold as BS 0/002. Digital versions may vary by display, so official references are preferable for production work.
