How to Draw the Belize Flag: Ratio, Borders, Circle & Coat of Arms
A precise construction guide to Belize’s standardized flag, including the 3:5 ratio, 10% red borders, central white-circle size and correct coat-of-arms placement.

Belize flag canvas and ratio
Start with a rectangle in the official 3:5 height-to-length ratio. A convenient drawing canvas is 500 × 300 units or pixels.
How tall are the red borders?
The official 36-inch-high example uses 3.6-inch borders at the top and bottom, leaving a 28.8-inch blue field between them. This means each red border is 10% of total flag height.
On a 500 × 300 canvas, each red border is therefore 30 pixels high, with a 240-pixel blue center.
How large is the white circle?
The 3 × 5-foot official example uses a 21-inch white circle. Relative to a 36-inch flag height, that is about 58.33% of the total height.
On a 500 × 300 digital canvas, the circle diameter is therefore approximately 175 pixels.
How do you add the coat of arms?
Center the official standardized coat of arms within the white disc. The emblem includes the 50-leaf wreath, shield, two supporters, mahogany tree and motto. Because of its complexity, use Belize’s official standardized artwork rather than redrawing the emblem from memory.
