How to Draw the Trinidad and Tobago Flag
Use the official 5:3 land proportion and the published width rules for the black-and-white diagonal.
Start with the correct proportion
For the national flag used on land, use a 5:3 proportion. A practical drawing size is 1000 Γ 600 units. For flags carried at sea, official guidance gives a 2:1 proportion.
Fill the field red
The base of the flag is entirely red before the diagonal device is added.
Add the diagonal band
A black diagonal runs from the upper hoist toward the lower fly and is bordered by white on both sides. Official guidance states that the combined black-and-white width at the upper corner equals one-fifth of the flagβs full length.
Each white border is one-sixth of the total combined black-and-white width, leaving the black center four-sixths of that total width.
Check orientation
The black-and-white diagonal must point toward the peak of the staff. This is one of the most important orientation checks when reproducing the flag.
